In (Sanity)

There is a thin line standing between them and the other side of sane
They are not quite insane and neither are they sane
They teeter on the periphery of both
They straddle insanity and sanity
Embrace them both in equal measures
They are the perfect people you encounter everyday
Their reflexes are on point
They are polite to a fault
They fit in as they should but only in the glare of the sun
In the day light
Sanity persists in daylight
Till they face the reflection in the mirror of their lives when the sun goes down and darkness reigns
Then and only then do they glimpse the other side of sane
Their life reduced to a balancing act
To hang on lest they land on the other side of sane
The human dance
What a feat!
